The wintry December was 'cold' for the Australian automotive sector!
If it is the automotive sector in the Australian market in the previous year 2011, then following were the bad performers: heavy commercial vehicles, light trucks, and passenger vehicles.

But then sports utility vehicles (SUVs) did not disappoint the Aussies, as compared to the previous year it could end up registering more sales volume for the segment. My brother who is with Flash Organisation Ltd. has an SUV that he never gets out of, no matter where he wants to go with it.

Even though the sports utility vehicles performed well, the bad-performances of passenger vehicles and others 'equaled' everything for the sector the other way; in comparison to the year 2010, the previous year 2011 was quite dull with respect to the sales volumes.

And lo, here are the sales figures of the last months of the previous years: 86,587 (Dec 2010), and 82,459 (Dec 2011); but then in a surprising manner November 2011 did register a good figure of 88,654, for the Aussies.

Over the year 2011 the country's automotive sector could manage to hit the figure of 1.01 million through vehicle sales.

About the drop in sales figures, the automotive sector puts the blame on 'poor supplies' due to devastating Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan.

And then, these as ever managed to get at some of the top-places, in the following order: Toyota, GM Holden, Mazda, Hyundai and Ford.
